Between 2017 and 2018, I spent four months teaching and conducting qualitative interviews in Mae Ra Ma Luang Refugee Camp on the border of Myanmar and Thailand.
In 2023, I spent a month conducting qualitative interviews in cities and IDP (internally displaced persons) camps across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (Duhok, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Halabja).
